Dissociation of Memories

Concept overview

The dissociation of memories is a psychological phenomenon that often manifests during intense emotional experiences. This process can lead to a separation between lived emotions and associated events, as illustrated by a personal experience where difficult family events led to physical pain and irrational fears. Awareness of this dissociation, facilitated by professional intervention, allows one to understand that emotions accumulated in the body can be linked to distinct events, such as family problems or accidents.

Emotional release results from the re-evaluation of these experiences. By dissociating traumatic events, it becomes possible to recognize that each fear, whether related to a specific incident or repressed desires, hides an emotional complexity. This understanding opens the way to a healing process, allowing one to break free from emotional associations that hinder well-being. Thus, managing fears and repressed emotions is essential to foster a better self-understanding and a path towards personal liberation.
